Product Description

Square-body trucks, third-gen Camaros, C3 and C4 Corvettes, G-body Monte Carlos and dozens of other GM platforms from 1973 to 1993 share a factory radio connector, and the Metra 70-1677-1 is the harness that adapts it to a modern receiver. It plugs into the OEM connector and hands you color-coded leads matched to standard aftermarket radio wiring, so you build the connections once, outside the dash, and drop the radio in. No cutting into a 40-year-old loom, which matters on a restoration where original wiring is part of the value. Seven-inch pre-stripped leads give you working room in dashes that were never designed for a DIN-sized radio, and flexible GXSL wire carries the current a new head unit sends to four speakers without stiffening up. Terminals are hand-assembled and pressure-sensitive so they lock into the connector body and stay there over washboard roads. Heat-resistant insulation copes with a firewall-adjacent install. Check the fitment list for your exact model and year before ordering, since GM changed connectors mid-range on some platforms. Lifetime warranty from Metra.

Features

    • No Cutting, No Splicing

The harness plugs into your vehicle's factory radio connector, so an aftermarket receiver goes in without cutting a single wire in the original loom.

    • Color-Coded Wiring

Leads follow standard aftermarket radio color codes, so power, ground, illumination and each speaker pair are identified by color instead of guesswork.

    • Seven-Inch Leads

Longer leads give you slack to crimp or solder connections outside the dash cavity, then fold the bundle back in behind the new radio.

    • GXSL Wire Construction

Flexible GXSL wire carries the full current a modern head unit sends to four speakers, so none of the receiver output is lost along the way.

    • Reversible Upgrade

Since the factory wiring stays intact, the original radio can go back in later, which matters at trade-in time or on a vehicle you plan to sell.
