The S6512-44 is a 12" square subwoofer from the MTX S65 Series, designed for builders who want maximum output per cubic foot. The square frame fits more cone area into the same mounting area as a round 12", and patented corner surround geometry raises Xmax, producing 68.47 cubic inches of volume displacement. That extra moved air is what turns amplifier watts into audible SPL. Power handling is 500W RMS and 1000W peak with dual 4-ohm voice coils, so you can wire for 2 ohms or 8 ohms from a single woofer and match almost any mono amplifier. Recommended power is 250 to 500W RMS, and response extends to 23Hz for low notes you feel in the seat. Cooling works on two paths: Spider Plateau Venting uses the sub own motion to aim cool air at the voice coil, while a radial ribbed t-yoke acts as a heat sink through the back plate.
