The THUNDER1000.1 is a mono block class D subwoofer amplifier rated at 1000W RMS into 1 ohm, 600W into 2 ohms, and 350W into 4 ohms. That range of stable loads lets it run a single dual voice coil sub or a pair of woofers without you rewiring the whole system. Class D topology converts more of the incoming current into output instead of heat, which is why the chassis stays small enough to mount behind a seat, under a console, or against a trunk wall. Surface mount PCB construction uses smaller components bonded directly to the board, so the amplifier resists the constant vibration of a vehicle better than through-hole designs. Tuning is handled on an accessible control panel with a variable Butterworth low pass crossover from 40Hz to 220Hz at 12dB per octave, a variable subsonic filter from 10Hz to 50Hz for vented enclosures, and switchable bass boost at 0, 6, or 12dB. Power and ground terminals accept up to 1/0 AWG and speaker terminals up to 12 AWG, using set screw connections that hold tight and limit voltage drop.
