The Eris 3.5 is a pair of compact powered studio monitors for desks that do not have room for anything larger. Each cabinet pairs a 3.5-inch woven-composite low-frequency driver with a 1-inch silk-dome tweeter, and 50W of Class AB dual amplification gives the pair real output: 97 dB peak SPL at one meter, with response from 80 Hz to 20 kHz. That is enough level and detail to hear what a mix is actually doing at a normal working distance. High- and low-frequency Acoustic Tuning controls let you correct for the room, which matters when speakers sit close to a wall or on a hard desk surface. Input options cover most sources: balanced 1/4-inch TRS for an audio interface, and unbalanced 1/8-inch stereo and RCA for a laptop, phone, console, or turntable preamp. A front-panel 1/8-inch headphone output with its own amplifier takes over when the room needs to stay quiet, and it mutes the speakers so you do not have to reach behind the desk. Protection circuitry covers RF interference, output-current limiting, over-temperature, turn-on and turn-off transients, and subsonic content, and Power Saver mode engages after 40 minutes of silence. The pair ships with speaker wire and both a 1/8-inch TRS to stereo RCA cable and a stereo RCA to stereo TS cable, so the first connection does not need a parts order.
