The StudioLive AR16c pairs a classic analog console layout with a full multitrack recording rig. Twelve high-gain XMAX mic preamps feed an 18x4, 24-bit/96 kHz USB-C compatible audio interface, so a full band with a drum kit records to your computer while you mix the room from the same board. Eight mono and four stereo channels each carry a musical 3-band analog EQ with a highpass filter, with a sweepable mid on the mono channels.

Record all 16 channels plus the main mix over USB, capture a stereo main mix to an SD or SDHC card with no computer attached, or do both for a redundant take. Four playback streams return for monitoring earlier tracks plus a click. Mic/line boost on the stereo channels lifts low-output vintage synths and broadcast mics.

The stereo Super Channel on channels 17/18 handles four sources at once: RCA for a turntable, 1/8-inch for a phone, Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless playback, and switchable SD or USB stereo return, which covers walk-in music and rehearsal backing tracks.

The onboard stereo effects processor adds reverb, delay, or chorus with 16 presets and a footswitch bypass jack at no added latency, and the effects mix can be recorded with or without the dry channels. Two monitor buses with balanced TRS outputs give players their own mixes, and L/R control room outputs plus a level-controlled headphone output handle studio duty. Sturdy metal construction, 60 mm faders, internal power supply, and a rackmount kit are included, along with Capture, Studio One Artist, and the Studio Magic plug-in suite.
