Product Description

The RNT is a flagship tube condenser microphone developed with Rupert Neve Designs, built for lead vocals and any source that needs to sound finished on the way in. A hand-crafted 1" true condenser capsule feeds fully discrete Class-A electronics in both active stages, including the same custom op-amps used in the Rupert Neve Designs 5088 console, with a 12AU7 / ECC82 tube supplying the character.

The nine-position pattern switch is what makes this mic adaptable. Omni, cardioid and figure-8 sit at the ends and center, with three intermediate steps between each, letting you dial the exact balance of direct sound and room tone instead of choosing between three fixed options. Move the switch a step and a vocal tightens up or the room opens out.

The numbers back up the range: 151 dB max SPL, 133 dB dynamic range, 18 dB self-noise and switchable -12 / 0 / +12 dB gain. That covers a whispered voiceover and a screaming guitar cab with the same microphone. Switchable 40 / 80 Hz low-cut filters at 12 dB per octave handle proximity buildup and stage rumble.

Recommended for vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar cabs, orchestral strings, piano, woodwinds, percussion, overheads, toms and room. The included floor box power supply, 8-pin cable, custom shock-mount, wooden box and flight case make it session-ready.
