sE2200

The sE2200 is a large-diaphragm cardioid condenser built for vocals first, and it is the microphone that put sE Electronics on the map. A hand-crafted 1" true condenser capsule, individually tuned in the sE factory, gives it the polished, forward vocal tone that has kept it in mic lockers for years, and it has been used on records by world-class vocal artists.

Traditional Class-A electronics and a custom-built output transformer sit behind the capsule. Self-noise measures just 8 dB with an 86 dB signal-to-noise ratio, which is what you want on quiet voiceover and soft vocal passages where preamp gain is high. Switchable -10 and -20 dB pads push max SPL to 145 dB, so the same mic works in front of a guitar cab, brass section or drum kit.

Switchable 80 and 160 Hz bass-cut filters trim proximity buildup on close vocals and stage rumble on louder sources. The all-metal housing is heavily shielded against interference, which matters in home studios full of computers and power supplies.

Beyond vocals and voiceover, it holds up on drum kit and overheads, room, acoustic guitar, electric guitar cabs, orchestral strings, piano, woodwinds and brass. The included sE Isolation Pack (shock mount and pop filter) plus thread adapter mean you can mount it and start tracking right away.
