Product Description

The sE4100 is the cardioid-only version of the multi-pattern sE4400, built for engineers who want that microphone's warm, rounded character without paying for patterns they never switch to. It carries the very same hand-crafted twin 1" gold-sputtered brass capsule, individually tuned in the sE factory, wired for a single cardioid pattern.

Cardioid pickup with strong rear rejection makes it a practical choice for drum overheads and guitar amps in rooms that are not acoustically perfect. Max SPL reaches 157 dB with the -20 dB pad, so close placement on a snare, hi-hat or cranked cab stays clean. Self-noise of 9 dB(A) and an 85 dB signal-to-noise ratio keep quiet sources like lead vocals and orchestral strings free of hiss.

Switchable 80 and 160 Hz low-cut filters trim proximity buildup and stage rumble at the source. The all-metal housing is built for regular transport, and the innovative close-miking shockmount lets you get the capsule into tight positions around a kit or amp where a conventional mount will not fit.

At 290 g and 146 mm long, it is compact enough to place where larger side-firing condensers cannot go. Recommended for lead vocals, orchestral strings, drums and overheads, electric guitar cabs, piano, acoustic guitar, woodwinds and brass. Shockmount, thread adapter and metal case are included.
