sE4400 Pair

This pair of sE4400 large-diaphragm condensers is a complete stereo front end, with a stereo mounting bar included so you can set up XY, ORTF or near-coincident arrays without buying extra hardware. Each mic offers four switchable patterns: cardioid, hypercardioid, omnidirectional and figure-8, which covers Blumlein and mid-side work as well as standard cardioid pairs.

Each body carries a hand-crafted 1" gold-sputtered true condenser capsule, individually tuned in the sE factory for the warm vintage character the 4400 line is known for. Max SPL reaches 157 dB with the -20 dB pad, so the pair handles drum overheads and loud brass without strain, and switchable 40 and 80 Hz bass-cut filters trim low-end buildup at the source.

Both mics are built for tour life: die-cast all-metal housing, metal switches and a spring steel wire mesh grille that stands up to repeated load-ins. Discrete electronics keep the control set to what engineers reach for.

At 290 g and 146 mm each, the bodies fit close-in positions larger condensers cannot reach, and the included close-miking shockmounts help you place them precisely. Recommended for drum overheads, orchestral strings, piano, acoustic guitar, choir, woodwinds and brass. Two shockmounts, thread adapters, the stereo mounting bar and a metal case are included.
