The sE6160 is a shotgun condenser microphone for situations where you need to pick one sound out of a noisy environment. Its tight lobar pattern narrows the pickup angle so the source in front comes through clearly while sound arriving from the sides and rear drops away, all without the tonal coloration that usually comes with highly directional designs.

That directionality delivers high gain-before-feedback, which is why it works so well capturing crowd noise for in-ear mixes and live recording at the same time. On set, it keeps dialogue intelligible with traffic, HVAC and crew noise in the background. In a concert hall, it lets you spot-mike a hard-to-reach section without dragging a stand into the sightlines.

A hand-crafted small-diaphragm true condenser capsule keeps the sound natural, with 13 dB(A) self-noise and up to 157 dB max SPL using the pre-attenuation pad. The switchable low-cut filter cuts handling rumble and wind noise on a boom.

At 110 g and 250 mm long, it is light enough to hold on a pole for extended takes and slim enough to keep out of frame. Die-cast housing handles field work, and the included mic clip, thread adapter, windscreen and soft case cover both mounting and transport.
