sE6160 Pair

This pair of sE6160 shotgun condensers covers two positions at once, which is how most directional miking jobs actually work: one on dialogue and one on ambience, stereo crowd capture from opposite sides of a stage, or two hard-to-reach sections in an orchestra.

Each mic uses a tight lobar pattern that narrows the pickup angle so the source in front stays clear while side and rear sound drops away, and it does that without the tonal coloration highly directional designs usually introduce. High gain-before-feedback makes the pair well suited to capturing crowd noise for in-ear mixes while recording the same show.

Both bodies house a hand-crafted small-diaphragm true condenser capsule with 13 dB(A) self-noise and up to 157 dB max SPL using the pre-attenuation pad. Switchable low-cut filters cut handling rumble and wind noise when either mic is on a boom.

At 110 g and 250 mm each, they are light enough for extended handheld pole work and slim enough to keep out of frame. Die-cast housings hold up to field use, and the included mic clips, thread adapters, windscreens and soft case handle mounting and transport for both.
