sE8 Cardioid Capsule Pair

These cardioid capsules turn a pair of sE8 pencil condensers into a matched stereo front end with focused, directional pickup. Each capsule uses true condenser technology and a sophisticated backplate design, delivering transparent sound that stays true to the source without added coloration.

Stereo recording depends on both channels behaving identically, which is why every pair is selected from hundreds of individual capsules at the sE factory. The result is close correlation across the whole frequency range and virtually identical sensitivity, so localization holds and the center image stays stable instead of drifting.

Every capsule is hand-crafted and individually tuned in-house. The ultra-thin gold-sputtered diaphragm gives an impressive transient response that captures small nuances, while the ultra-precision electrode is optimized for linearity and natural sonics, keeping the frequency response balanced.
