sE8 Omnidirectional Capsule Pair

These omnidirectional capsules give a pair of sE8 pencil condensers an open, natural pickup that takes in the source and the space around it in equal measure. A sophisticated acoustic design with precision components produces a polar pattern that is close to a perfect sphere, so off-axis sound arrives without coloration even in demanding placements.

Omnidirectional pickup brings two practical benefits: no proximity effect, so performers can move without the tone shifting, and consistent response at any angle, so a distant placement still sounds full rather than thin. That makes these capsules a strong choice for orchestral and ensemble recording, choral performances, solo acoustic sources and vocals, plus percussion and cymbals where fast transients matter.

Every capsule is hand-crafted and individually tuned in the sE factory. The ultra-thin gold-sputtered diaphragm responds quickly enough to capture the smallest nuances, and the ultra-precision electrode is optimized for linearity and natural sonics. Noise is the lowest and SPL handling the highest in its class, which covers a quiet choir and a hard-hit drum kit with the same capsules.

Because convincing stereo needs both channels to behave alike, each pair is selected from hundreds of individual capsules for close correlation across the frequency range and virtually identical sensitivity. Thread them onto sE8 bodies and record.
