sE8 Omni Pair

This pair of sE8 omni pencil condensers captures the source and the room together, which is what you want when a recording needs to sound like a real space rather than a stack of close mics. Both bodies use the same sophisticated capsule backplate design and true condenser technology found across the sE8 line, delivering transparent, authentic sound.

Omnidirectional pickup has no proximity effect and no off-axis coloration, so performers can move freely and a mic placed several feet back still sounds full. Sensitivity of 20 mV/Pa with 15 dB self-noise and a 79 dB signal-to-noise ratio keeps quiet passages clean, while max SPL of 161 dB with the -20 dB pad handles a hard-hit kit at close range.

Each mic carries two switchable low-cut filters at 80 and 160 Hz and two switchable pads at -10 and -20 dB, so you can set trim and level before the signal reaches your preamp. Hand-crafted capsules are individually tuned in the sE factory, and all-metal housings with gold-plated XLR connectors hold up to regular use.

Recommended for acoustic guitar, choir, orchestral strings, piano, woodwinds, drums, percussion and overheads. Both bodies accept sE8 cardioid capsules when a session needs directional pickup. Mic clips with thread adapters and wind screens are included.
