T2

The T2 is a large-diaphragm condenser with a hand-crafted 1" titanium-sputtered true condenser capsule and four switchable pickup patterns: cardioid, hypercardioid, omnidirectional and figure-8. Titanium is much stiffer and about three times lighter than gold, and that is the whole point: transients arrive with accurate definition instead of rounding off.

Four patterns cover most of what a session throws at you. Cardioid for focused close work, hypercardioid for tighter rejection on a loud stage, omni for open room and ensemble capture, figure-8 for two performers facing each other or for aiming a null at a problem source. Max SPL reaches 157 dB with the -20 dB pad, and switchable 40 and 80 Hz bass-cut filters trim low-end buildup at the source.

The design keeps the control set to what engineers reach for, with discrete electronics and down-to-earth build quality rather than features that never get used. The all-metal body measures 146 mm long and weighs 290 g, small enough to reach positions larger side-firing condensers cannot.

Recommended for drums, percussion, overheads, hi-hats, orchestral strings, piano, bass and electric guitar cabs, acoustic guitar, vocals, woodwinds and brass. A close-miking shockmount, thread adapter and metal case are included, and a matched-pair configuration is available.
