Product Description

The V7 MK is the Myles Kennedy Signature Edition of the V7, a handheld dynamic vocal microphone with a supercardioid pickup pattern. Kennedy, the frontman of Alter Bridge and a longtime touring vocalist, worked with sE on the version he wanted for stadium-sized rooms, and the result is a stock V7 platform with a custom roadworn finish and black grille.

The supercardioid pattern does the heavy lifting on a loud stage. It rejects sound from the sides and rear, so you get high gain before feedback and less wash from wedges, cymbals, and guitar cabs, and off-axis response stays natural when a singer moves off the capsule.

A specialized aluminum voice coil and neodymium magnet deliver 2.0 mV/Pa sensitivity across a 30 Hz to 19 kHz range, wider at the bottom than the standard V7, which gives a chest-heavy rock vocal more weight to work with. A patented integrated shockmount decouples the capsule from the body, cutting the handling noise and cable thump that come with pacing a stage for two hours.

The housing is all metal with a beveled spring grille, dent-resistant and corrosion-free, and the beveled edge stops the mic rolling when it goes down on a riser. At 269 g and 176 mm long it is lighter and shorter than most V7 variants.

Suited to rock and metal vocals in clubs through arenas, rehearsal rooms, and studio tracking, plus broadcast, podcasting, electric guitar cabs, and drums.

Features

    • Built With A Touring Vocalist

Myles Kennedy shaped this edition around years of arena work, so the finish, grille, and feel come from stage use rather than a spec sheet.

    • Extra Low-End Weight

A 30 Hz to 19 kHz range reaches lower than the standard V7, giving a chest-heavy rock vocal more body before you touch an EQ.

    • Holds Up At Volume

The supercardioid pattern rejects sound from the sides and rear, so you gain headroom before feedback on a stage full of cymbals and cabs.

    • Quiet While You Move

A patented integrated shockmount decouples the capsule from the body, so pacing a stage for two hours does not add thumps to the vocal.

    • Light In The Hand

At 269 g and 176 mm long, it is shorter and lighter than most V7 variants, which is noticeable across a full headline set.
