Product Description
The tight supercardioid pattern is why it holds up on loud stages. It rejects sound arriving from the sides and rear, which means more gain before feedback and less bleed from wedges, drums, and nearby amps. Off-axis response stays natural, so the tone does not collapse when a singer drifts away from center.
Inside, a specialized aluminum voice coil and neodymium magnet give 2.0 mV/Pa sensitivity across a 40 Hz to 19 kHz range, with detail at the top that stays clear of harshness. A patented integrated shockmount separates the capsule from the housing, so handling noise, cable thumps, and footfall rumble drop far enough to ignore. The internal windscreen is switchable, so you can set the level of plosive control a given voice needs rather than living with a fixed filter.
The housing is all metal with a beveled spring steel grille that resists dents and corrosion, and the beveled edge keeps the mic from rolling off an amp cabinet or the stage floor. A 3-pin male XLR connector and 300 ohm output work with any standard mic preamp.
Brushed nickel sits between black and chrome: it has a metallic look without the mirror glare, so it photographs cleanly and does not flare under a spotlight. The purple internal windscreen also makes this unit easy to identify in a shared mic locker. Practical uses cover lead vocals, speech, broadcasting, podcasting, an electric guitar cab, and drums. At 305 g (10.76 oz) it balances well in the hand across a full set.
Features
-
More Volume Before Feedback
The supercardioid pattern rejects sound from the sides and rear, so you can push stage volume further before the mic starts to ring.
-
Natural Vocal Detail
A 40 Hz to 19 kHz range at 2.0 mV/Pa sensitivity captures the body of a voice and its top-end air without adding a harsh edge.
-
Quiet In The Hand
A patented integrated shockmount separates the capsule from the housing, cutting handling noise, cable thumps, and footfall rumble during a set.
-
Built For The Road
All-metal housing and a beveled spring steel grille resist dents and corrosion, and the beveled edge keeps the mic from rolling off an amp.
-
Metallic Without The Glare
Brushed nickel gives a metal look that photographs cleanly and avoids the spotlight flare a mirror finish throws during a filmed performance.
