The Soundcraft EPM8 puts 8 mono channels and 2 stereo channels on one 2-bus console built for both the studio and the stage. Every mic input runs through Soundcraft's GB30 preamp, the same design used on the larger LX7ii and GB Series consoles, with a 55dB gain range and 22dB of headroom so vocals and instruments stay clean even when the source is hot. True 48-volt phantom power runs every channel, meaning condenser microphones of any type work without an external power box. Mono channels get 3-band EQ with a swept mid, while the stereo channels use a simpler 2-band EQ, giving engineers control without cluttering the surface. A PEAK LED watches multiple points in the signal path and brightens as the signal nears clipping, so you catch an overload before it becomes distortion. Two configurable auxiliary buses handle monitor mixes or effects sends, and TRS inserts on every mono channel plus the mix output let you patch in outboard gear. The monitor and headphone outputs run in parallel, so a performer can listen on headphones while the engineer works from studio monitors. Ten-segment LED metering keeps the output level visible at a glance, and 60mm faders give steady, accurate control over every channel.
