Product Description

The SRX918S is a single 18-inch active subwoofer built to extend SRX900 Series full-range systems down to 35 Hz. It houses a JBL 2279G-1 18-inch woofer with Differential Drive, a dual voice coil and dual gap design that dissipates heat better, compresses less under sustained load, and holds a wider dynamic range than a conventional single-coil woofer. Passively cooled Class D amplification rated at 1,100W continuous is built in, along with a universal power supply, so one cabinet performs the same on any mains voltage worldwide. Maximum output is 134 dB SPL on the 80 Hz preset. Coverage can be set omnidirectional or cardioid, which matters when you need to keep low end off a stage, out of a choir loft, or away from an open-air property line. A large low-frequency port design improves airflow and cuts audible turbulence at high output. Onboard DSP is user-controllable, and LevelMax limiting applies excursion-control algorithms to protect the transducer during hard nights. A rear-panel LCD opens up the full control set at the cabinet, while dual Ethernet ports with etherCON connectors and HARMAN HControl support put the sub on a network for system-wide control and monitoring from Windows, macOS, and iPadOS. Reinforced 18 mm plywood with a Black DuraFlex finish and two recessed handles suits rental stock, fixed installs, and working bands.

Features

    • Low End That Holds Up

A JBL 2279G-1 18-inch Differential Drive woofer dissipates heat across dual voice coils, so output stays consistent through long, loud sets.

    • Cardioid When You Need It

Switching from omnidirectional to cardioid coverage pulls low end off the stage and out of the back of the room without extra processing.

    • Same Performance Anywhere

Built-in Class-D amplification and a universal power supply mean the cabinet performs identically on any mains voltage, from a club to an overseas festival.

    • Protection Under Pressure

LevelMax limiting uses excursion-control algorithms to keep the transducer inside safe travel when engineers push the system all night.

    • Networked Control

Dual Ethernet ports with etherCON connectors and HARMAN HControl support put every sub in the rig under one software window across Windows, macOS, and iPadOS.
