SALT-200.4

The SALT-200.4 is a four-channel full-range amplifier for people who take their front stage as seriously as their bass. It produces 200W x 4 at 4 ohms, 325W x 4 at 2 ohms, and 700W x 2 at 4 ohms bridged, with a bandwidth of 10 Hz to 25 kHz.

SALT stands for Sundown Audio Low-Voltage Technology. The rating is tested at 12.8V with less than 1 percent THD, so the numbers hold up on a normal electrical system rather than requiring 14V or more. Operating range is 9V to 15.5V, and efficiency measures 75 percent at 4 ohms at 100 Hz.

The crossover section is more capable than most four-channel amps. Variable 12dB high and low pass filters cover 50 Hz to 500 Hz, and an x1/x10 multiplier extends that range up to 5 kHz, so you can run component sets, midrange drivers, or horns from the same amplifier. A variable 12dB subsonic filter spans 10 Hz to 500 Hz for bridged bass duty.

Signal to noise ratio is above 105 dB and damping factor is above 400, which keeps the noise floor low and cone motion controlled. Input sensitivity ranges from 6V down to 0.2V for compatibility with factory and aftermarket sources. Protection circuitry covers thermal, voltage, speaker short, and DC-offset faults, with power, clipping, and protection indicators. An optional wired remote displays voltage, temperature, and clipping.

Dimensions are 11.82 by 6.85 by 2.66 inches, and a 120A fuse is recommended.
