SALT-3

The SALT-3 is a strappable Class D monoblock rated at 3000W x 1 at 1 ohm, 1500W x 1 at 2 ohms, and 750W x 1 at 4 ohms. Strap it to a second SALT-3 and the pair produces 6000W x 1 at 2 ohms, which makes it a building block for a system you plan to grow rather than a dead end.

SALT stands for Sundown Audio Low-Voltage Technology, and the point is honest power. The rating is tested at 12.8V with less than 1 percent THD, so you get the published output from a normal electrical system instead of needing 14V or more to hit the number. Operating range is 9V to 15.5V and efficiency is above 90 percent.

Tuning is competition oriented. A 24dB variable subsonic filter covers 10 Hz to 50 Hz and a 24dB variable low pass filter covers 35 Hz to 250 Hz, both steeper than typical 12dB designs. Variable bass boost at 45 Hz adds up to 9 dB, and phase shift control across 0 to 180 degrees aligns the sub with the front stage. Frequency response runs 10 Hz to 250 Hz, signal to noise ratio is above 90 dB, and damping factor is above 400.

Onboard indicators cover power, clipping, and protection, backed by thermal, voltage, speaker short, and DC-offset protection circuitry. The included wired remote displays voltage, temperature, and clipping at a glance.

A 300A fuse is recommended. Dimensions are 19.68 by 8.67 by 2.80 inches.
