Product Description

The SDX-100.4 is a water-resistant four-channel Class D amplifier for vehicles that live outdoors. It produces 100W x 4 at 4 ohms, 135W x 4 at 2 ohms, and 270W x 2 at 4 ohms bridged, in a chassis measuring 8.875 by 7 by 2.125 inches.

The water resistance is not a marketing claim bolted onto a car amp. A heavy cast aluminum casing sheds heat and shields the electronics, and the full set of audio controls sits beneath a sealed, removable cover, so rain, dust, and spray stay out of the adjustment pots. Unscrew the badge with an allen key when you need to make changes.

That makes it a match for side-by-sides, UTVs, ATVs, boats, Jeeps with the top off, golf carts, and any car where the amp mounts somewhere exposed. It works just as well in a sealed trunk install.

Crossover flexibility is wide. Channels 1-2 have a variable 12dB high pass filter covering 15 Hz to 500 Hz or 300 Hz to 10 kHz. Channels 3-4 have a variable 12dB high pass from 15 Hz to 500 Hz and a variable 12dB low pass from 30 Hz to 500 Hz or 600 Hz to 10 kHz, with x1/x20 frequency multipliers. Variable 12dB bass boost at 50 Hz is on board.

DC auto-sensing turn on removes the need for a remote wire, and protection circuitry covers thermal, voltage, speaker short, and DC-offset faults. A 50A fuse is recommended. An optional wired remote is available.
