VMA1240+(18) MC80

This kit pairs the JBL VMA1240 240W mixer/amplifier with 18 pairs of Rockville MC80 8" metal ceiling speakers, giving restaurants, retail stores, offices, and schools a complete 70V background music and paging system in one order. The VMA1240 handles five inputs, including mic, line, and RCA, plus Bluetooth streaming and USB playback, so background music and live announcements run from a single rack unit. Per-channel bass and treble controls let you tune each source, and voice-activated ducking automatically lowers the music when someone speaks into the mic.

With all 36 speakers tapped at 5W, the system draws 180W, leaving the 240W amplifier about 25% headroom, right in line with the 15 to 20% minimum recommended for 70V systems. Each MC80 offers 70V taps at 5, 2.5, 1, and 0.5W plus 25V taps down to 0.25W, so dining rooms can play louder while hallways and restrooms stay quiet on the same line. A volume knob hidden in the center of each grille allows fine adjustments after install without pulling the speaker. The 8" dual-cone design covers a full 70Hz to 20kHz range with deeper bass than smaller ceiling speakers, and the metal housings and steel grilles blend into standard ceilings. 70V wiring keeps the install simple across long cable runs, with no impedance math required.
