C114 Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone

The AKG C114 is a large-diaphragm multi-pattern condenser microphone built for detailed, adaptable recording across music, podcasting, and broadcast work. Its edge-terminated, gold-sputtered capsule design traces back to the classic AKG C12, delivering an even top end and balanced frequency response. Three selectable polar patterns - cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure of eight - let it adapt to solo vocal takes, room-ambience capture, or duet and interview setups without changing microphones.

A transformerless FET circuit keeps the signal clean, and a max SPL rating of 145dB means the C114 can sit close to loud electric guitars or drum overheads without distortion. Self-noise is rated at just 12dB(A), so quiet passages and subtle dynamics come through clearly, backed by an 82dB signal-to-noise ratio. Frequency response runs 20Hz to 20kHz for full-range capture.

The C114 runs on standard 48V phantom power through a 3-pin XLR connector, making it compatible with common interfaces and mixers.
