Product Description

The AKG C214 brings the sonic character of the flagship C414 XLII into a more affordable large-diaphragm condenser microphone built for serious studio work. Its one-inch capsule sits on an integrated suspension that keeps mechanical noise and stage vibration out of the signal, while a switchable 20dB pad lets you record sources up to 156dB SPL without distortion. A bass-cut filter reduces proximity effect for close-up vocal or acoustic guitar work, and the cardioid polar pattern focuses on your source while rejecting off-axis noise. Inside an all-metal, die-cast body with a shock- and scratch-resistant finish, the C214 covers a full 20Hz to 20,000Hz frequency range with 13dB-A equivalent noise and an 81dB-A signal-to-noise ratio. It runs on standard 9 to 52V phantom power through a balanced XLR output. From lead vocals to acoustic guitar and horn sections, the C214 delivers detail and headroom that stand out for a mic in its class, at a weight of just 280 grams.

Features

    • C414-Inspired Sound Character

The C214 shares a capsule design with the C414 dual-capsule system, delivering detailed vocal and guitar recordings at a lower cost.

    • High SPL Handling

A switchable 20dB pad lets you record loud sources up to 156dB SPL without clipping or distortion.

    • Reduced Proximity Effect

The built-in bass-cut filter keeps close-up vocals and acoustic sources from sounding boomy or unbalanced.

    • Quiet, Stable Capture

An integrated suspension isolates the capsule from mechanical noise and stage vibration for cleaner recordings.

    • Roadworthy Construction

The all-metal, die-cast body with a shock- and scratch-resistant finish holds up to repeated studio and stage use.
