The American DJ M-DCBASE puts the motor in a base instead of overhead, so a mirror ball can sit on a table, bar top, or floor for ground level illumination. It turns mirror balls up to 8 inches and runs quietly, which keeps it usable near a seated crowd or an open mic. Power comes from a single D cell battery or the M-DCB/PSU DC power supply, and neither is included. Battery operation is what makes it practical for centerpieces, retail displays, photo backdrops, and stage dressing where the nearest outlet is across the room and a cable would be in the way.
