Product Description

The ZB-MSD PLATINUM 5R is a 189 W Philips MSD Platinum 5R discharge lamp, the replacement for fixtures built around the 5R platform. The 5R lamp is what gives a compact moving head its tight, high-intensity beam, and as it ages the beam loses reach and shifts color before it finally fails to strike.

Dropping in a fresh 189 W lamp brings that punch back: a dense mid-air beam that still reads at the back of a room, with the color temperature the fixture's optics were designed around. In a rig running several 5R heads, one tired lamp is obvious next to the others, so re-lamping keeps the whole plot looking uniform.

Clubs, touring rigs, and rental inventory run 5R heads for long hours. Keeping spares on the shelf means a fixture that will not strike gets fixed at changeover rather than being pulled from the show.

Features

    • Beam Intensity Restored

A fresh 189 W MSD Platinum 5R lamp returns the tight, dense mid-air beam a fading lamp loses, so the fixture reaches the back of the room again.

    • Correct Color Temperature

The lamp matches what the fixture optics were designed around, avoiding the warm, muddy output an aging 5R drifts toward late in its life.

    • Uniform Across The Rig

Re-lamping keeps every 5R head in a multi-fixture plot matched, so one tired unit does not stand out against the rest.

    • True 5R Platform Lamp

Built to the Philips MSD Platinum 5R specification, it installs as a direct replacement with no adapters or fixture modification.

    • Minimal Downtime

Having a spare on the shelf means a head that will not strike is back in service at changeover instead of out for the run.
