Arturia KeyStep 37 MK2 37-Key Sequencer USB MIDI DJ/Studio Keyboard Controller

KeyStep 37 mk2 combines a 37-note Slimkey keyboard, a polyphonic step sequencer, and broad hardware and software connectivity in one desktop unit. The keybed is velocity-sensitive with aftertouch, and two capacitive touch strips handle pitch bend and modulation, so expression stays under your fingers in a small footprint. Chord and Scale modes make new phrases easy to find.

The sequencing side is the reason to pick this over a plain controller. A polyphonic step sequencer runs up to 64 steps with eight-voice polyphony, a 16-mode arpeggiator generates pattern styles, and pattern chaining builds longer structures. Mutate, Spice, and Dice create variations while a pattern plays, and you can shift octaves, adjust note lengths, add silences, overdub notes, and record Bend and Wheel automation without stopping.

Four dedicated encoders control Arpeggiator, Sequencer, and Mutate parameters directly, cutting menu diving, and they reassign freely to custom MIDI CC and CV/Gate destinations. A MIDI CC button with four banks gives access to 16 assignable CCs across all modes, and an OLED display with clickable encoder and RGB LED feedback shows what is happening.

Connections cover USB-C MIDI with bus power, full-size MIDI DIN in and out, 3.5 mm sync in and out, a TRS sustain or expression pedal input, and four CV outputs for Pitch, Gate, Mod 1, and Mod 2, each configurable to velocity, aftertouch, mod wheel, and more. Analog Lab Intro and Ableton Live Lite are included, and the unit weighs 2.40 lb.
