The ATH-M50x is the model that made the M-Series a studio standard. Proprietary 45 mm large-aperture drivers with rare earth magnets and copper-clad aluminum wire voice coils cover 15-28,000 Hz with clarity across the range and deep, accurate bass, the combination that keeps it on engineers' heads year after year.

Impedance is 38 ohms with 99 dB sensitivity and 1,600 mW maximum input power, so it runs from an interface, mixer, or phone without an amplifier while handling the level a tracking session demands.

Circumaural earcups contour around the ear and seal tightly, isolating loud rooms and keeping bleed away from an open microphone. The earcups swivel 90 degrees for one-ear monitoring, standard practice for DJs cueing a track and engineers checking a room.

Three detachable cables ship in the box: a 1.2-3.0 m coiled cable, a 3.0 m straight cable, and a 1.2 m straight cable. That covers a studio desk, a mixing position across a room, and a phone in your pocket, and it means a damaged cable is a swap rather than a replacement pair.

Earpad and headband materials are chosen for durability through daily use, and the frame collapses for transport.
