It is the on-ear model in the M-Series, using the same proprietary 45 mm large-aperture drivers found in the ATH-M50x. Response covers 15-28,000 Hz with accurate bass, 102 dB/mW sensitivity, 38 ohm impedance, and 1,600 mW maximum input power. The low-impedance design pulls high output from any headphone jack, including a phone or a field recorder.

The low-profile closed-back housing isolates well and holds a firm fit without the bulk of circumaural cups, which suits broadcast booths, mobile work, and anyone who runs warm in larger pads.

Key metal components in the frame handle repeated handling, and memory foam earpads and headband keep pressure down across long sessions. Both pads detach for replacement, so wear becomes a parts order rather than a new pair.

Three detachable cables ship in the box: a 1.2-3.0 m coiled cable, a 3.0 m straight cable, and a 1.2 m straight cable, all terminating in a 3.5 mm stereo plug. A 6.3 mm (1/4 in.) screw-on adapter and protective carrying pouch are included.
