Audio Technica ATM250 Dynamic Kick Drum, Percussion, Brass Instrument Microphone

The ATM250 is a hypercardioid dynamic microphone tailored for kick drum, floor percussion, and brass. High SPL sources are its normal working condition, so you can place it inside a kick port or in front of a trumpet bell without the capsule giving up.

A 40 Hz to 15 kHz response carries the low-frequency weight a kick drum needs while keeping beater attack audible in a dense mix. The Hi-ENERGY neodymium magnet raises output and sharpens transient response, which means less gain at the preamp and a cleaner, quieter channel.

The tight hypercardioid pattern rejects side and rear sound with strong off-axis performance, giving maximum gain before feedback on loud stages and cutting snare and bass rig bleed in the studio. A gold-plated XLRM-type connector resists corrosion, and all-metal construction handles years of touring.

The included isolation clamp mounts the mic securely, allows a wide range of positions inside or outside the drum, and dampens mechanical noise traveling up the stand. At 0.91 lb and 5.02" long, the ATM250 fits kick drums, cajons, floor toms, low brass, and bass cabinets in live rigs and recording rooms.
