The ATM350D condenser microphone system is built specifically for miking drums, pairing the ATM350a cardioid condenser capsule with a UniMount drum mount and a strong, flexible 5-inch gooseneck. A spring-loaded mechanism clamps the mount tightly to a drum lug without hindering lug adjustments, and provides shock resistance for the mic during aggressive playing, while the gooseneck's rigidity keeps it from flopping around no matter how hard the drum is hit. The cardioid capsule delivers a clear, well-balanced response even at high SPLs, and its cardioid polar pattern reduces pickup from the sides and rear to isolate the target drum from the rest of the kit. An in-line power module includes a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter to control unwanted low-frequency noise, and interchangeable elements are available for hypercardioid and omnidirectional patterns if a different pickup shape is needed later. The system also includes an AT8468 violin mount with a hook-and-loop fastener for an additional mounting option, along with a protective carrying case.
