Product Description
The ATM350a capsule at the end of that gooseneck handles up to 159 dB SPL with a 40 Hz to 20,000 Hz response, so a trumpet at full volume stays clear and balanced rather than compressed and edgy. The cardioid pattern reduces side and rear pickup, which keeps the rest of the horn section and the drum kit out of the channel and gives you more gain before feedback.
Because the mic travels with the instrument, players are free to move on stage without walking off a stand-mounted mic, and the low-profile body stays close to invisible on camera. The in-line AT8543 power module adds a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter for ambient rumble and terminates in a standard 3-pin XLRM connector, running on 11 to 52V DC phantom power.
An AT8468 violin mount with hook-and-loop fastener and a protective carrying case are included, and interchangeable hypercardioid and omnidirectional elements are available.
Features
-
Travels With The Player
The AT8491U clip-on mount attaches to the instrument bell, so horn players can move on stage without walking off a stand-mounted microphone.
-
Locked-In Placement
The rigid AT8490 5" gooseneck holds its shape through hard playing, keeping the capsule aimed at the same spot all night.
-
Handles Loud Horns
The ATM350a condenser takes up to 159 dB SPL across 40 to 20,000 Hz, so a trumpet at full volume stays clear instead of turning edgy.
-
Cleaner Channels
A cardioid pattern reduces side and rear pickup, keeping the rest of the horn section and the drum kit out of the mix and adding gain before feedback.
-
Standard Connection
The AT8543 in-line power module runs on 11 to 52V DC phantom power and outputs on a 3-pin XLRM connector for any console or interface.
