Product Description

The Audio-Technica BP350ST-UL is a camera-mount MS stereo shotgun microphone for ENG, documentary, and run-and-gun production. A 16 cm (6.3") interference tube rejects off-axis noise and keeps the pickup on the subject in front of the lens, while independent line-cardioid and figure-of-eight condenser elements capture the scene in stereo.

The mid-side arrangement gives you real choices at the recorder. A switch on the included AT8547 power module selects wide stereo, narrow stereo, or discrete mid-side signals. Mid-side lets you set stereo width in post, place voices naturally in a mix, and keep depth when the two channels fold to mono for broadcast. Because both elements share one capsule, you avoid the time alignment and comb filtering issues of a spaced pair bolted to a moving camera.

Mounting is built for the field. The mic's attached 30 cm (12") cable ends in a TA5F connector that plugs into the power module, and the AT8495 mount clip holds the mic to the module at any angle so it can work around a monitor, light, or handle. The power module drops into a camera microphone mount or a third-party cage, and the supplied 36 cm (14.2") TA5F to dual-XLR3-M cable feeds a camera's stereo inputs or any preamp with phantom power. An 80 Hz high-pass switch cuts wind rumble and traffic noise at the source.

Channel separation stays clean and response stays natural even at high SPLs, so the mic holds together at concerts, protests, and sidelines. The AT8180 foam windscreen and protective carrying case are included, and most ATM350a mounts and mounting systems fit as well.

Features

    • Focus On What Is In Frame

A 16 cm interference tube narrows the pickup toward the subject, so distant dialogue reads clearly while side noise from a crowd drops back.

    • Stereo Width You Set Later

Record discrete mid-side signals and adjust width in post, or pick wide or narrow stereo at the power module when you are cutting on deadline.

    • Mono Folds Down Cleanly

Mid-side output keeps its depth when both channels collapse to mono, which protects broadcast feeds and avoids comb filtering from a spaced pair.

    • Fits A Crowded Camera Rig

The AT8495 clip attaches the mic to the power module at any angle, so it clears monitors, lights, and handles on a built-up cage.

    • Quiet In The Field

A switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter trims wind rumble and traffic noise before it hits your preamp, saving cleanup time later.
