SM65C

The Autotek SM65C is a 6.5-inch component speaker system: separate woofers and tweeters with external crossovers, so you can mount the tweeter up high near ear level while the woofer stays in the factory door location. That separation is what moves the soundstage off your knees and up onto the dash.

Each channel handles 150W RMS and 300W peak at 4 ohms with 88dB sensitivity. Frequency response runs 50Hz to 20kHz, low enough to carry real mid-bass before a subwoofer takes over. The external 12dB crossover network uses premium capacitors with exact crossover points at 2kHz, giving you a cleaner handoff than the internal networks found in coaxial speakers.

The 1-inch Neo Mylar soft dome tweeter handles power without harshness, and Alpha-Cellulose poly cones produce musical midrange while staying light. A UV resistant rubber surround with high temperature adhesive handles door moisture and heat, a pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former sheds heat, and the anti-resonant stamped steel basket keeps frame ringing out of the sound.

Several tweeter mounting options are included, so you can surface mount, flush mount or angle the tweeter to suit the vehicle. Grilles are included for the woofers. Mounting specs are a 5.59-inch cut-out, 7.01-inch outside diameter and 2.12-inch depth. Use spade connectors or solder directly for the best connection.
