SM65CXS

The Autotek SM65CXS is a pair of 6.5-inch shallow mount 2-way coaxial car speakers made for doors and panels where a standard speaker will not clear the window mechanism. Mounting depth is 1.65 inches, roughly half an inch shallower than typical 6.5-inch speakers, which is often the difference between a clean install and cutting spacers.

Each speaker handles 150W RMS and 300W peak at 4 ohms with 88dB sensitivity and 50Hz to 20kHz response, so the shallow profile does not cost you power handling or low-end reach. A 1-inch Neo Mylar soft dome tweeter covers the top end without harshness, and the Alpha-Cellulose poly cone keeps midrange and mid-bass present while staying light. A passive Butterworth crossover with a 6dB internal network hands off at 4kHz.

The UV resistant rubber surround handles moisture and sun, high temperature adhesive keeps the cone and surround bonded under high power, a pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former sheds heat, and the anti-resonant stamped steel basket keeps the frame from ringing. Over-coil cooling exchanges air across the voice coil through the spider.

Grilles are included for locations where the speaker is exposed. Mounting specs are a 5.59-inch cut-out and 7.01-inch outside diameter, matching standard 6.5-inch openings. Use spade connectors or solder directly for the best connection.
