SSL Soundstorm US8K

The SSL Soundstorm US8K is a self-contained bass system that fits under a truck or car seat, pairing a single 8" woofer with a built-in amplifier in one sealed enclosure. It is sold individually. The woofer uses a single 2.6 ohm voice coil rated at 400W RMS and 800W max, matched to the onboard MOSFET amplifier so no impedance math or separate amp rack is needed.

This layout suits vehicles where cargo space matters. A pickup with a rear bench, a compact car with a small trunk, or a work vehicle that hauls tools all keep their storage while gaining low end from 30Hz to 150Hz. Installation adapts to whatever head unit is already in the dash: RCA low-level inputs connect to an aftermarket receiver's pre-amp outputs, while speaker-level high-level inputs tap directly into a factory stereo that has no RCA jacks.

Tuning controls sit on the amplifier. A variable low-pass crossover sets which frequencies reach the woofer, phase control aligns the sub with the door speakers when bass notes go missing, variable bass boost shapes the low end, and input gain matches output to the source signal. A wired remote mounts within reach of the front seat to raise or lower sub level on the fly, useful when switching from a bass-heavy track to a podcast.

Thermal, short, and overload protection circuits shut the amplifier down before damage occurs, with power and protection LEDs showing status at a glance. A complete 8-gauge wiring kit with power cable, ground cable, remote wire, RCA interconnect, fuse holder, and hardware ships in the box.
