Product Description

The CAD Audio Equitek E70 is a small, metal-bodied end address condenser built for accurate instrument capture in the studio and on stage. Its low mass 1/2” gold sputtered diaphragm tracks fast transients cleanly, which makes it a first pick for cymbals, hi-hat, acoustic guitar, strings, woodwinds and piano, sources where a slower capsule turns detail into a blur. The transformerless design reduces low frequency distortion at high sound pressure levels, so close-miked drums and horns stay defined. Two interchangeable capsules ship in the box. The cardioid capsule gives -40dBV sensitivity, 23dB A-weighted self noise and 155dB max SPL with the 20dB pad engaged, for isolation on a loud stage or a tight drum kit. The omnidirectional capsule gives -36dBV sensitivity, 19dB A-weighted self noise and 154dB max SPL, for a natural, open picture of a room or an ensemble. A three-position high-pass filter and three-position pad cover the range of setups you meet in live sound and studio work without reaching for outboard gear. The compact 7/8” by 6 1/8” body slips under a hi-hat or inside a piano where larger microphones will not fit. Every E70 is audio tested and inspected under the direction of CAD Professional Microphones. Runs on P48 phantom at 2mA through a three pin XLR connector.

Features

    • Catches the Detail

A low mass 1/2” gold sputtered diaphragm follows fast transients, keeping the stick attack on a cymbal and the pick on a string from smearing together.

    • Two Microphones in One

Interchangeable cardioid and omnidirectional capsules ship together, so you can isolate a source on a loud stage or open up for a natural room picture.

    • Clean Under Pressure

The transformerless design reduces low frequency distortion at high sound pressure levels, and 155dB max SPL with the pad engaged covers close-miked drums and horns.

    • Shape It at the Mic

A three-position high-pass filter and three-position pad handle rumble and hot sources at the capsule, cutting the need for outboard gear or plugin repair later.

    • Fits Where Others Cannot

The 7/8” by 6 1/8” metal body slides under a hi-hat, inside a piano or into tight overhead positions where a large diaphragm microphone will not go.
