The CAD Audio GXL1800 is a large format side address condenser that captures a clear, articulate picture of a voice or instrument. High sensitivity is the defining trait here: it gives you room to back the source off the capsule and use distance miking on acoustic guitar, drum overheads, piano and vocal groups, techniques that need a microphone with enough output to stay quiet at lower levels.
