Product Description

The Celestion Blue is the 12-inch alnico guitar speaker that defined chiming British combo tone. It started life as a radio speaker, modified for electric guitar amplifiers, and the Blue version, known as the T.530, became the standard fitment in the combos that shaped 1960s rock. That voicing is still here: dampened attack, warm lows, mellow upper mids, and a bell-like top end that stays musical as the amp works harder. Power handling is 15W with 100dB sensitivity, so it reaches useful volume from a low-wattage valve amp and starts to compress in a way that adds bloom to chords instead of choking them. Frequency range is 75Hz to 5,000Hz with a 1.75-inch round copper voice coil on a pressed steel chassis. Weight is 9.3 lb, largely down to the alnico magnet. Fit one in a small combo for touch-sensitive cleans and rich breakup at manageable stage levels, or run a pair in a 2x12 to hold up in a band. It is best matched to low-wattage valve amps rather than high-gain heads, since the 15W rating sets the ceiling. Cut-out diameter is 283mm with four mounting holes on a 297mm PCD.

Features

    • The Original Chime

An alnico magnet gives the Blue its dampened attack, warm low end, and bell-like treble, the voicing players reach for when they want vintage British combo character.

    • Musical Compression When Pushed

Rated at 15W, this speaker starts to compress as the amp works, adding bloom and sustain to chords rather than clamping down on your dynamics.

    • Volume From A Small Amp

100dB sensitivity means a low-wattage valve combo reaches rehearsal and small-stage levels without being pushed past its sweet spot.

    • Detail Across The Range

A 75Hz to 5,000Hz response with a 1.75-inch copper voice coil keeps single notes clear and chord voicings separated instead of blurred together.

    • Standard Cabinet Fit

A 309mm frame with four mounting holes on a 297mm PCD drops into typical 12-inch combos and cabinets, making the upgrade a simple swap.
