The Celestion CVF18VJD is an 18-inch subwoofer driver for cabinets that need to move serious air. It handles 1,600W AES and 3,200W continuous at 8 Ohm, with 97dB sensitivity and a 25Hz to 1,500Hz range that reaches into the sub-bass most PA systems only hint at. A 125mm copper voice coil is wound longer than the gap for better control at high excursion, and an airflow vented magnet assembly disperses heat so output holds steady through a long night. Twin demodulation rings keep inductance distortion down, which is what separates a defined bass line from a wall of noise. The cone is carbon and Kevlar loaded paper with a cloth-sealed surround and optimised double suspension, giving 12mm of Xmax with the alignment needed to stay linear. A cast aluminium chassis handles the mechanical load without flexing.
