Product Description

The Celestion Vintage 30 was developed in 1986 for a new generation of hard rock players and hot-rodded amplifiers, and it has been on thousands of recordings since. It pairs the H-type ceramic magnet, the closest in performance to alnico, with a cone and voice coil built from contemporary materials, giving 60W of power handling at 16 Ohm with 100dB sensitivity and a 70Hz to 5,000Hz range. This is the most revealing speaker in the range: detailed, complex overtones, a warm low end, a famously rich vocal midrange, and a finely detailed top end. Used on its own it shows the character of a hand-wired amp clearly, and in quartets it produces the intricate three-dimensional crunch that made the 4x12 version a studio standard. The 16 Ohm rating suits heads that specify 16 Ohm and makes series-parallel wiring in a 4x12 straightforward. A 1.42kg ceramic magnet and 1.75-inch round copper voice coil on a pressed steel chassis bring unit weight to 10.4 lb with 135mm overall depth, a 283mm cut-out, and four mounting holes on a 297mm PCD.

Features

    • The Recorded Standard

Developed in 1986 for hot-rodded amps, the Vintage 30 has been captured on thousands of records, making it the reference many engineers expect to hear.

    • Alnico Character, Ceramic Power

The H-type magnet performs close to alnico while handling 60W, so you get vintage complexity with the durability modern amplifiers demand.

    • Rich Vocal Midrange

A famously vocal midrange with warm lows gives chords body and single notes presence, which is why it sits so easily in a dense mix.

    • Reveals What Your Amp Does

Detailed, complex overtones expose the character of hand-wired boutique amps rather than masking it, rewarding players with quality front-end gear.

    • Three-Dimensional In A 4x12

Four of these produce the intricate vintage crunch that made the loaded 4x12 a studio staple, with depth that a single speaker cannot reproduce.
