FlareCON Air 2 is a compact wireless control hub that combines a 100% TRUE Wi-Fi receiver and a D-Fi transmitter in a single unit. It generates its own Wi-Fi network, so it works in a basement ballroom, an outdoor tent, or anywhere else with no internet service and no hotspot. Connect a phone or tablet running Android or iOS and you have hands-on control of 512 DMX channels without carrying a console. From there, FlareCON Air 2 sends D-Fi signal to an unlimited number of D-Fi-ready fixtures and receivers at the same time, with a maximum unobstructed range of 600 ft. That covers most rooms and a good share of an outdoor site. Fixtures without D-Fi built in can still be controlled through the included cable adapter, so an older par in the rig is not left out. The built-in battery runs up to 8 hours on a 4-hour charge, long enough for a wedding, a corporate day, or a club night with no cable runs at all. An OLED display gives full-text readouts for setup and patching, and a hook-and-loop fastener on the back mounts the unit directly to truss. Output is on 3-pin XLR, the antenna uses an RP-SMA connection, and the unit is fully FCC/RTTE compliant. At 0.6 lb and 6.2 x 3.3 x 0.9 in, it disappears into a gear bag.
