Obey 4 is a compact DMX-512 controller built specifically for LED wash lights running in 3- or 4-channel mode: red, green, blue, and white or amber. That focus is the point. Instead of learning a full lighting console to change the color of four uplights, you press a button. It controls up to 4 separate fixtures, and each one can run in a different playback mode at the same time, so a pair of uplights can hold a static color while the other two chase. Playback options cover nine built-in preset colors, manually triggered chases, a color macro for scrolling the spectrum by hand, RGB fade for automatic scrolling, RGB fade delay that offsets each fixture slightly, and an auto mode that assigns random colors per fixture. Fade times are variable across all playback modes, strobing adjusts on the fly, adjustable blackout fades fixtures in and out rather than cutting them, and audio sensitivity is adjustable for sound-active work. It weighs 3 lb and measures 12.8 x 5.5 x 2.1 in, running on 12 VDC from an external 100 to 240 VAC supply. It fits uplighting packages, small stages, and anyone new to DMX.
