SJU is a one-gallon supply of snow machine fluid formulated specifically for snow machines. It produces the light, drifting flakes that read as falling snow on camera and to a live audience, and it is designed and tested to give consistent output from Chauvet snow machines.

The formula is non-toxic, non-flammable and unscented. That last point matters more than it sounds: an unscented fluid will not compete with catering, will not trigger complaints in a closed venue, and will not linger in a room after the effect ends. Non-flammable chemistry also keeps it compatible with venues that restrict pyrotechnic and solvent-based effects.

Net contents are 3.8 L in a single container weighing 9 lb. In an SM 250 snow machine, which holds a 5 L tank and consumes 580 ml per minute at full output, one gallon supports roughly six and a half minutes of continuous run time, or considerably longer when the machine is triggered in bursts through a timer remote.

Using fluid built for the machine protects the pump and heating system. Off-spec or general-purpose fluids can clog or damage internal components, and that repair costs more than the fluid ever will.
