Control 128WT

The Control 128WT is an 8" two-way in-wall speaker from JBL Professional's Control Contractor line, built for rooms where sound quality matters but the speaker itself should all but disappear into the wall. It fits boardrooms, reception areas, retail floors, restaurants, museums, airports, convention centers, and surround positions in a critical listening room. An 8" polymer-coated aluminum-cone woofer with a pure butyl rubber surround handles the low end, while a 1" pure-titanium dome tweeter sits on a low-diffraction swivel mount that aims up to 10 degrees toward the listening area. A high-slope 2nd order crossover keeps the handoff between drivers clean for natural midrange, with a 38 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, 90 dB sensitivity, and wide 180° x 160° coverage.

Rated at 8 ohms, the speaker also carries a built-in transformer with 70V taps at 50, 25, 12, and 6 W and 100V taps at 50, 25, and 12 W, so it drops into distributed background music and paging systems and lets you set levels zone by zone. A screw-down Euroblock connector accepts wire up to 14 AWG for secure terminations. Installation calls for an 11.9" x 8.9" cutout in walls up to 1.25" thick, with only 4" of depth behind the wall face and a recommended 1.4 to 2.8 cu ft air cavity. The included cutout template and paint shield help you trim an accurate opening and finish the wall without getting paint on the drivers, and the optional WB8 rough-in frame mounts to wall studs for new construction.
