Control 426LP

The Control 426LP is a 6.5" two-way coaxial ceiling speaker from the Control 400 Series, built for rooms where the space above the ceiling is tight. Its low-profile back can sits just 98 mm (3.9 in) from the bottom of the ceiling tile to the top of the can, so it fits the shallow plenums found in offices, retail stores, restaurants, hotel corridors, classrooms, and remodels where a standard ceiling speaker won't clear. A 6.5" treated paper cone woofer and a coaxially mounted 1" textile soft-dome tweeter cover 95 Hz to 19 kHz, and CRBI technology spreads that sound across a 110° conical pattern with a tonal character that closely matches the deeper Control 426C/T. You can mix both models in one project and keep the sound consistent as people move from room to room, and the even coverage cuts down on loud spots under each speaker and quiet gaps between them, so a space often needs fewer speakers and amplifier channels.

Rated for 110W continuous (440W peak) with 89 dB sensitivity and a 109 dB maximum SPL, it has the headroom for background music and clear paging. The built-in multi-tap transformer connects to 70V lines at 60W, 30W, 15W, or 7.5W and 100V lines at 60W, 30W, or 15W, while the 12 ohm direct input works with low-impedance amplifiers for smaller zones. The back can is suitable for plenum air handling spaces per UL 2043 and carries an IP33 rating. Terminal covers offer top and side cable entry and secure with captive hand screws, no tools needed, and captive dogears grip a wide range of ceiling thicknesses. The full-face magnetic grille ships in white, takes paint to match the ceiling, and attaches with a safety tether that mounts into the baffle.
