CS4CX

The Crunch CS4CX is a pair of 4-inch two-way coaxial speakers handling 100W RMS and 200W peak. Four-inch locations are usually the hardest to improve, sitting in dash corners, door tops, and rear pillars where space is tight, and these give those small openings real output instead of the thin sound most factory drivers produce.

A silver alpha-cellulose poly cone keeps moving mass low while producing midrange and upper bass, and a 1-inch Neo-Mylar soft dome tweeter carries the highs. The two are joined by a passive Butterworth crossover with a 6dB internal slope at 6kHz. Response runs 55Hz to 19kHz with 88dB sensitivity, which is efficient enough to run off factory head unit power and still gain when an amplifier goes in.

Materials are chosen for a cabin that bakes in summer and sits damp in winter. The UV-resistant rubber surround resists moisture and sun, high-temperature adhesive keeps the cone and surround bonded under hard use, and the anti-resonant stamped steel basket stays quiet under load. A pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former sheds heat, aided by over-coil cooling through the spider.

No grilles are supplied because these speakers normally mount behind an OEM panel or factory grille. Textured ABS gaskets seal them to the mounting surface, and spade terminals or direct soldering handle the wiring. Cut-out diameter is 3.69 in with a 5.39 in outside diameter and 3 in mounting depth, so check clearance behind the panel before install.
