CS693

The Crunch CS693 is a pair of 6x9-inch three-way coaxial speakers rated at 200W RMS and 400W peak, the highest power handling in the CS speaker line. The 6x9 format has more cone area than any round car speaker size, which is why rear decks in sedans and rear doors in trucks are still the place to put them when you want bass without a subwoofer box eating trunk space.

The three-way design uses two crossover points, 1kHz and 3kHz, spreading the range across more drivers so midrange stays distinct from the midbass the large cone produces. Response covers 46Hz to 20kHz at 88dB sensitivity. A silver alpha-cellulose poly cone keeps moving mass low despite the size, and a 1-inch Neo-Mylar soft dome tweeter handles the top through a passive Butterworth network.

The UV-resistant rubber surround stands up to the direct sun a rear deck gets, high-temperature adhesive holds the cone-to-surround joint under sustained output, and the anti-resonant stamped steel basket keeps a cone this large from ringing through the frame. A pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former with over-coil cooling handles heat at 200W.

Grilles are included for rear deck installs where the speaker sits exposed. Cut-out is 8.64 x 5.98 in with a 10.35 x 7.20 in outside diameter and 3.35 in mounting depth, so measure below the deck or inside the door before install. Spade terminals or direct soldering complete the hookup.
