CSMA240 Mixer Amplifier + 10 CSS8008 8" Ceiling Speakers

This JBL package puts a full background music and paging system into one order: a CSMA240 commercial mixer amplifier and ten CSS8008 8" ceiling speakers, sized for restaurants, bars, cafes, retail stores, and offices. The CSMA240 puts out 40W per channel across two output channels and connects straight to 70V or 100V distributed speaker lines through its built-in output transformer, so there's no separate transformer to buy or wire. Each CSS8008 has selectable 5W, 2.5W, 1.3W, and 0.7W taps on 70V, which lets you split the ten speakers into two zones of five at the 5W tap and keep each channel at 25W, comfortably inside the amp's rating.

Eight mixer inputs accept mic and line sources on euroblock connectors plus unbalanced RCA, with 27V phantom power for condenser mics. Voice activated ducking on channels 1 and 5 lowers the music automatically when someone speaks into the paging mic, and priority muting cuts every other channel for announcements. Illuminated volume rings stay readable in a dim dining room, bass and treble adjust separately for each output channel, and RJ45 ports accept JBL CSR-V in-wall volume controls (sold separately). Sleep mode powers the amp down after about 30 minutes without signal and wakes it when audio returns.

Overhead, each CSS8008 uses an 8" dual-cone driver with 96 dB sensitivity and 120° coverage, so it reaches a solid listening level even at low tap settings and carries voice and music from 55 Hz to 16 kHz. The speakers fit a standard 8.5" ceiling cutout and sit just 2.8" deep behind the grille, which makes them a practical fit for drop ceilings in shops and dining rooms.
